Wood-Mizer Releases MP200 Two-Sided Planer Moulder

WOOD-MIZER RELEASES MP200 TWO-SIDED PLANER MOULDER
16.04.2019

The release of the MP200 follows on the launch of Wood-Mizer’s four-sided planer moulder range in 2018.

The company’s Woodworking Machine range now consists of three planer moulder models – the MP200 two-sided planer moulder together with the MP360 and MP260 four-sided planer moulders.

The earlier release of the four-sided models gave new and existing producers access to technology that was previously unaffordable with improved production capacity, quality, ability to compete in new sectors and extended profits some of the benefits.

The MP200’s vertical and horizontal spindle allows for planing and moulding on two sides in one pass.

The MP200 two-sided planer moulder continues this legacy by matching affordability to high levels of innovation to deliver a solution that sets a new benchmark for competitively priced planing and moulding machines.

MP200 – Innovate to the next level

The MP200 is a robustly built, easy to use a machine that is designed for manufacturers that want to produce mouldings, flooring and other wood products quickly, affordably and efficiently.

Its compact design and wheel-mounted frame slots easily into existing work areas or congested spaces.

The unit has one horizontal and one vertical spindle that can hold planing or profiling knives. This makes it possible to plane and mould on one or two sides in one pass to produce mouldings, flooring or planed components for manufacturing or resale.

The MP200 can plane components with a maximum height of up to 260 mm high and 410 mm wide. The maximum moulding height is 100 mm high by 310 mm wide.

The MP200’s ability to profile and plane in one pass is provided by an innovative centre mounted fence that allows for processing on either side of the fence. The fence references off two guide rails to provide for accurate and square in-feeding with three side pressure rollers on the opposite side assisting to further align the component into the machine.

Processing on either side of the fence makes the production of decking for instance very easy now.

The component is planed smooth on four sides in two passes on one side of the fence and then passed through on the other side to receive a grooved tread pattern on the face-side to deliver a ready-to-sell component.

A handy ruler scale mounted above the fence ensures the accurate, and on-size repositioning of the fence.

A four-post table height adjustment system ensures the square and level, up and down movement of the table. A manual crank handle adjusts the initial table height with a micro-adjustment dial providing for final size adjustments.

Two overhead steel-grooved rollers and a third polyurethane roller at the outfeed-end feeds the component through the machine flat and true. The polyurethane roller ensures that the planed surface is not damaged as it exits the unit.

An anti-kickback finger system at the infeed-end ensures the safety of the operator and also to align the component squarely as it enters into and through the unit.

An easy-to-use control panel consists of two separate buttons that control the top or side spindle. The feed speed, that is pinned between 2 and 12 m/minute, is also regulated from the control panel.

Each spindle has a dust extraction point to remove residue from the unit while it is working.

A cut-off switch mounted on the top cover of the machine prevents access to the machine while it is running.
