Wood-Mizer Africa’s showing at WoodEX 2018 was another building block in the company’s busy expo circuit in South Africa and Africa.
WoodEX allowed for a different platform to reach wood enthusiast living in urban areas as well as manufacturers and existing forestry and sawmilling customers from traditional timber production areas in South Africa and the region.
New range launched
The launch of Wood-Mizer’s planer moulder range comes hard on the heels of the corporation’s recent acquisition of Swedish woodworking machinery manufacturer, MOReTENs, which has been producing top quality planer moulders and related products since the 1980s.
The new planer moulder range adds further momentum to Wood-Mizer’s objective to provide solutions that can process timber from forest to final form.
Wood-Mizer Africa’s stand at Woodex 2018. The recently introduced LT15GO, planer moulder range and a united orange colour scheme for the entire Wood-Mizer range were some of the highlights on display.
Wood-Mizer’s class-leading reputation in the sawmilling sector for quality, reliability and after-sale service will also be duplicated in the new range and lend assurance of comprehensive support for the duration of a machine’s lifespan.
The Wood-Mizer planer moulder range includes a full line-up of four-sided planer/moulders, table saws, dust extraction solutions and tooling that includes planing and profiling knives.
A new addition to the LT15 range
Wood-Mizer’s stand at WoodEX also showed a further addition to its nów renowned LT15 range.
The new LT15GO. It’s a basic, affordable and portable sawmilling solution to produce sawn timber where trees grow.
The LT15 range, which is the backbone of the sawmilling sector in Africa, now includes the LT15GO sawmill.
The unit provides for a basic, affordable and portable sawmilling solution that give sawmillers the freedom to produce sawn timber where trees grow.
The Wood-Mizer stand also featured part of the company’s extensive resaw range, the HR200 on display providing for robust resawing capacity for sawmillers and solid wood furniture manufacturers.
Solid wood processors can cut costs and improve processing flexibility with a resaw.
The margins added by timber wholesalers to on- spec boards can be saved if producers buy thicker board sizes and resaw these board to smaller sizes. The flexibility to cut any board thickness also improves their productivity.
The Wood-Mizer HR200 resaw is part of a wide range of resawing solutions that Wood-Mizer has available for sawmillers, furniture manufacturers or timber processors in general.
New markets and sectors
Wood-Mizer has grown its presence in Africa considerably and the corporation’s footprint in Africa now includes Wood-Mizer approved dealerships and distributors in 30 countries across Africa.
After-sale service is paramount to the corporation’s success in Africa and Wood-Mizer is continually improving its sales, local service support, marketing, spares supply and training to sawmillers in Africa to ensure their success into the future.
New machine colour scheme
Wood-Mizer’s now unified colour scheme was also evident at WoodEx2018.
Until recently, Wood-Mizer’s divergent machine colour scheme ranged from orange, green, grey and blue. The somewhat disjointed colour scheme confused the market and diluted the potential brand attraction that Wood-Mizer’s traditional orange colour offered.
“An extensive Corporate Identity reformulation process has resulted in a uniform orange and grey colour scheme that will paint Wood-Mizer’s entire range in a uniform colour palette.
The amalgamated, across-the-range colour scheme will strengthen the brand’s impact going forward.
